Insulation is one of the most adopted home improvement measures around the world. It is done mostly for heat and sound in all the residential and commercial setups. The insulation work can be done while the building is being constructed, or even in old buildings without such a facility.

There is a wide range of products available in the market, which can be used for the insulation purposes. Fiberglass and 2lb foam is used for heat and sound insulation of the walls, roof, and floor of the buildings. Besides the 2lb foam, a number of other cushioning materials are also available in the market which can either reflect or absorb sound.

Additionally, new windows with double glass panes with an internal air-filled space are also being used for heat insulation in buildings. Such a feature helps in blocking the movement of heat across the new windows.

Apart from insulating the building structure, it is also necessary to properly insulate the air distribution and cooling system. Any fissure or faults in the duct system can cause major loss of conditioned air. In a large scale commercial or industrial structures, it can lead to heavy energy loss. Hence, duct insulation is also given utmost priority by the people.

The construction architects conduct prior studies regarding the structure of the building to plan the layout of heat insulation material. One of the most important benefits of heat insulation is energy conservation, which also results in saving the expenditure of heating or cooling of the building. Since a large amount of energy is saved and reduces the power production required, it benefits the environment as well.

Along with the people, the Government is also in favour of these home improvement procedures like insulation, fire proofing, and weatherization. They provide tax credit windows towards the expenses incurred on conducting these procedures on buildings of any size. The tax credit windows is offered in the form of a fixed monetary amount of percentage rebate in the tax.

Owing to the financial support from the government and the numerous long and short-term benefits, heat and sound insulation of buildings have gained unanimous acceptance.
